Crab fishing near the Golden Gate Bridge. We launched out of Clipper Harbor in Sausalito and traveled under the Golden Gate Bridge to harvest our share of this year's bumper crop of Dungeness crab. The sea was as calm as a lake. If you are going out the gate make sure you do your homework, it is a potentially dangerous area. Small boats may not be able to get back into the bay when the tide is ripping. Know where the deep water channel is and stay far away from the huge ships that use it (they are going way faster than they look). Of course, always wear your life jacket. Fishing the SF Bay, April 2009. We were trolling for Halibut using anchovie and dodgers. The larger fish was 38 inches and weighed in at 26.5 lbs.
